Prescott's out
I am now thinking that Prescott’s outing of his eating disorder has projected the issue into the heart of the media churn. It has generated so much attention on the debate that it’s submerged the book release. Well done JP, your honesty has allowed so many to face up to this modern illness. It seems […]
John Prescott autobiography – publicity stunt or honest revelation
So- John Prescott has a book on his life coming out. Yes, another politician cashing in on his public office to help fund a comfortable retirement. It is tough selling books – have you ever wondered when you have been in a WH Smith, Tesco’s or Waterstones, how the hell do they shift all the […]

Despite Italy facing deep economic and social problems, being a country close to recession with consumer buying power falling and unemployment rising, the man is back to pilot the ship of state. Planes, Trains and… lost luggage

Can Max Mosley survive at the helm of the FIA?
Yes – Mark Borkowski, Media commentator and publicist Can a personality survive the sort of scandal enveloping the beleaguered FIA president, Max Mosley? Of course, but it all depends on their attitude to how the media are reporting the story. It is an unenviable situation of deep personal pain. At least Max can afford good […]
The Journey of Harmony
Thanks for Pete Fraser for sending me this link to the History News Network . An article on this rather good site highlights the origin of the Olympic torch relay. Not good news that it was engineered for the Nazi Games in Berlin. Its apposite that the BCOG have taken a leaf from Nazis lexicography […]
China's Olympic PR nightmare
China’s Olympic PR nightmare April 07th, 2008 | Category: Mark My Words After a week in the depths of the French countryside without access to the internet, I returned yesterday to the utter madness of the Olympic torch relay procession through London. How could this blatant PR stunt for the Chinese government have been allowed […]
Heathrow Terminal 5 the PR disaster
The opening of Terminal 5 at Heathrow has been a complete PR meltdown! So far, 70 flights have been cancelled and irate travelers spitting blood are wandering the concourse trying to reclaim luggage. I hear its going to get worse with more cancellations expected over the weekend. What a PR disaster especially when the media […]
Ab fab alive but lost in showbiz
My attention has been drawn to Lost in the Showbiz a website set up to celebrate the weight of witless, achingly silly PR guff. The site declares that it yearns to share all the inane crap it receives with the world. Gawd, I feel my age! The explosion of airhead PRs, who make Eddy Monsoon […]

Miss Bimbo Ploy
There’s been much talk about a website that has created a game called Miss Bimbo where children as young as nine years old are invited to become the most famous, beautiful, sought after bimbo across the globe. It’s certainly got most of the broadsheets and blogs here frothing at the mouth in their attack on […]
First the split, then the court fight. What now for Ms Mills?
As her celebrity persona passes into temporary obscurity perhaps its time to stop and take a close look at the Heather Mills phenomenon. Not since the cult of Myra Hindley have we encountered so much vitriol aimed at one woman. Poor Heather has been on a rough ride and taken a long drop into a […]
The Heather Mills debate on the Jeremy Vine Radio Show on BBC Radio 2
Mark Borkowski offers a POV on how she might rebuild her image.
It’s a very unhappy fifth anniversary of the Iraq war.
It’s a very unhappy fifth anniversary of the Iraq war. I thought it was a good moment to return to the BBC3 documentary entitled Iraq: How the War was Spun. My contribution to the programme was an investigation of the role of PR in promoting the Gulf war, and in controlling our perceptions of the […]
Mucca to the U.S.
As I envisaged, in my blog and on the Jeremy Vine Show, it wouldn’t be long before the former Mrs McCartney would be heading to the U.S. I predicted that Heather would soon be on a PR drive in the land that loves her. Well it took just 52 hours before we were told that […]

Heather pushed off the front pages
The 24 7 news cycle has switched. One moment I was commenting on Heather.. the next I was jabbering about the McCann landmark legal victory on Sky and the BBC. I suspect that Ms Mills is pleased that the focus has shifted.
